Senate Republicans, who are battling to win back the majority in 2024, worry the controversy surrounding Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) has become a liability for their party as a whole, and several are expressing quiet support for Sen. Mitt Romney’s (R-Utah) call for Santos to step down.

Perhaps these Senators should clean up their own chamber and honor their Oath of Office before worrying about what’s happening on the other side of the building. Yes, all of them have the right to express their opinion. My point is that their time would be better spent on the business of the Senate instead of interjecting themselves into an ethics matter in the House.
