He's just a traumatized engineer that roleplays bond movies with a platypus for therapy, and honestly good for him

I have mad respect for Doof for not repeating the mistakes of his parents with his own daughter. It takes a lot to not pass on that generational trauma.

You know his childhood was bad when Agent P treats him better than his entire family

Doof even got confused why his alternate self became evil when all that Doof went through was losing a toy train and thought that was a stupid reason to turn evil.

And he's still a better father than 90% of all characters in fiction and non-fiction.

“it only takes one bad day”
“a day? i’ve been at it for my entire career but look at me still a good father”

The fact that he had it worst yet is the least evil out of these 9 characters says something.

The fact that doofenshmirtz didn’t murder his parents after all this time is incredibly surprising, along with the fact that he still somehow loves his father.

He was an absolute unmatched father, gave his daughter everything he didn’t have and tried his hardest. Even when he had everything in life against him he kept going.

You know what I always loved about Doof? Despite being a villain, the man jumped through hoops to make sure his daughter had the childhood his heartless family refused to give him

And despite all that, he's the nicest villain you'll ever meet and even tries to give his daughter the childhood he never got.

Joker had one bad day, Doofenschmirtz had NO good days

The fact that his dad named the dog “Only Son” implies he also didn’t care much for Heinz’s brother Roger, which would explain why he clinged to their mother the most as a kid.

“Disowns his son because he didn’t jump off this shit!”

After all he's been through, you have to admire the fact Doof never built a yet. Man went though hell as a child and successfully repressed it.

Also, I like how the other villains on the list are ultimately meaningless. None of them held a candle to Doof.

If joker saw Doof with his “All it takes is one bad day” logic, I think he’d just be flabbergasted. He’d be wondering why doof hadn’t just destroyed the world at that point.

For how bad his life is, the tri-state area should consider themselves lucky that doof still has the heart to put self destruct buttons on his machines

I love after everything Doof's been through, the main lesson he takes from his shitty childhood is that he wants to be a better parent than his own and give Vanessa the life that he never had. Mans had every reason to be a monster but instead decided to be a good father, even if he's technically a villain.
