As a fellow Jazz bassist, that bassline is impeccable. The fingering technique, time and overall posture is outstanding. Even when playing the root notes of the melody AND having a similar time with the drums just makes the bassline feel extremely clean and smooth.
11/10 absolutely amazing and sub-worthy.

TJ is an incredible drummer. from 3:37-3:49 its like he finds this internal pocket rhythm that plays along to where it's almost like a counter melody but hes right there just punching his left foot constantly and super solid on the hat.
his sense of time is incredible and his ability to find these rhythms in the pocket is what the f**k

I think the thing that makes this sound so fresh to me is how much he diverts expectations. I think I know where the line is going, and I expect a note to come and it just doesn't get played, or a he plays a different note instead. This is definitely getting added to my list of things to transcribe. Awesome performance.
