I wish some people would actually listen to what I said, ffs 🤦🏻😂

To paraphrase Hunter S. Thompson, and answer the question posed in the thumbnail of this video:
There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-orange, warp-speed 1390cc naked bike is one of them - but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. That is why they are dangerous.

Seriously tempted by this, but I will stick with my Puch Maxi.

i had the first 990 superduke the longest of all my bikes. great bike and the orange tank light came on every 130 km. the flake orange glowed refreshingly in the sun and you were never overtaken. (except by someone faster) with the new superduke you can actually go straight to the nearest police station and hand in your license, with the new 990 you might have a chance of keeping it. want one, in flake orange.

This is the review I was waiting for. Honestly, after I'm done with my current bike in about 2 years. The lineup to replace is 990 Duke, or streettriple 765R.

You boys are on a content mission after a couple of weeks being quiet, sorting out other stuff.

It's 🔥

This bike seems to have opened up its own category and i'm not sure whether it's justified. When the first 790 released, it was priced just under 8000€ in europe. This bike is now at 14.500€, and they make you pay another 500€ if you want to turn the wheelie control off (i can understand paying to unlock electronic features, paying to be able to turn them off is ridiculous). So this is a 15.000€ bike, it has almost doubled in price since 2017 (i know, inflation played its part too). The 990r will be around 17.000€ properly specced up i reckon, that's knocking on superbike territory. On the other hand you have bikes like the Tuono 660 Factory (11.000€), which is down on power a bit and i'm unsure how the Sachs/Kayaba combination compares to the WP. Also the CB750 Hornet if you want to go super budget, well down on power and the suspension is probably not worth talking about, but it's almost half the price at 8200€. Both of those bikes are probably somewhat inferior in a direct comparison, but i do wonder whether the price difference is justified on the road. Especially the Tuono seems like it would make spending the extra money a difficult decision.
Edit: 765RS is 12.500€, don't know how i'd justify 2500€ more for the 990.

I´m happy enough with my old V-twin 990.

Now just time to wait another year for the R to drop

I think the key is the gap between Duke and SDuke, the gap between 120 and 190HP. Too much distance in my opinion.

The Design Department of KTM must be a great place to work, all those dogs must make for a lovely work atmosphere…

Wonder how much more the the R version will be, that’ll reduce the 5k gap, especially if you’ve got to buy tech packs on top aswell 😩

so much better than the 890? Im not convinced at all. Besides that, the new price point is disgusting.

I just test rode the 990 today. Initial thoughts, bike was very light and agile, almost felt like a toy. I had it originally in Street mode but quickly went up to Performance mode and I still felt it lacked jam. It seemed more quick than powerful and I'm only coming from a GSXR 600. Perhaps I needed it in Track mode but I only had 30 min with it. The Quicksfiter produced a whole bunch of false neutrals for me even in the 4-5k rpm range, eventually just went back to the clutch. The sit on the bike was very comfortable ( main reason I'm looking at an upright bike opposed to my Gixer) but the bike itself felt small for me (I'm 6'2 185lbs). I'm sure with adjustments of all the options i would like the bike but i feel the $14k Cdn is just too expensive for the bike you're getting

Bought it today. I haven't test ridden a motorcycle for a long time with that convinced must-have feeling.

That LC8c is one of the best engines on the market currently in my opinion. I hope they ironed out the camshaft issues.

Will this be dropped for a 1090 version next year and will it be reliable???.
