Definitely the one of the most iconic quotes from Gandalf

Two of the greatest quote sequences back to back of all time

This quote is up there with "No Luke, *I* am your father!" and "Guess you guys weren't ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it", and probably a few others I can't think of right now

I literally cried when I came to this part in the book, thinking that Gandalf was gone for sure...

Bro, this is the best movie of the trilogy and it's not close.

I think the fire effects in this movie (from 2001) do look better than some fire effects from 2014.

The clip should have started with the rest of the speach: "You cannot pass. I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. You cannot pass. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn. Go back to the Shadow!"

The show Ridiculousness brought me here. They showed a guy blocking traffic dressed as a wizard screaming you shall not pass. The audience told the host that the idea came from this so I looked it up.

In the book it's, "You can not pass". I like this version better-- more passionate sounding.

Just realizing they could have saved him.

The LOTR trilogy kinda reminds me of the Star Wars Original Trilogy. Gandalf kinda sacrificed himself to save others, as did Obi Wan did when he sacrificed himself to save Luke. The actor who played Obi Wan was homosexual, as is the actor who plays Gandalf. They are both wizards who have great powers. When they die, they become even more powerful. I didn't see a lot of mind-control with Galdalf as i did with Obi-Wan. I feel, after watching Star Wars trilogy since the 80's, LOTR is the superior trilogy. The acting, directing, cinematography, etc. is just so much better.
