It's so beautiful. The artist doesn't just capture a scene but a moment in time. It is romance at its finest ✨️ I wish I didn't know how it ends. For now, I'll bask in this moment & allow myself to believe they'll run off & live happily ever after 🫶🏼🥹😭😭

Thank you for introducing people to some great examples of art.

I love how the artist captured the fierce need for them to kiss like if they didn’t they would both be consumed by the fire of their passions

fun fact: the ancient spartans believed that passionate lovemaking made the strongest children, and so would seperate couples on their wedding night but give them openings to sneak around, believing like this video says that the tension would create more passion.

This tension, some seen, some unseen. This print is way beyond 1000 words.

They indeed look like the children that they were...very tender painting. Their innocence is heartbreaking 💔 especially knowing what is to come.

How can a simple person make such gorgeous artwork I will never know

This is why I love the Pre-Raphaelites. The inspiration is just as breathtaking and dramatic as the rendering...

Paintings don’t always have a simple truth ❤ this one does, simple but beautiful

Not me feeling single like a pringle after seeing this painting. I need a Romeo in my life 😭😭😭

this painting is so well painted it hurts, this is clearly my favorite painting of all time, how the painter succeeded to show the strong tension and feelings between both of them... it's beautiful

What I always found funny about "Romeo and Juliet" is that Shakespear wrote it with th intention of pointing out how stupid "puppy love" genuinely is, and then everyone else took it as this romantic story about true love. Shakespear was a writer of comedy and tragedy and yet people still interpret his work as "romantic". I always found that funny! 😂
