Diend usually summons the Rider in its transformed form. But Minami Koutaro is just too badass so he was summoned without the armor just to henshin.

This really shows how much sh*t Kotaro went through in Black. He does not even question why he was suddenly transported to a building full of monsters, two other Riders and a clone of himself.
He just gives a nod of approval and rolls with it.

I think most the Showa Rider suits haven't aged all that well in terms of design and material. But Black and RX still look amazing to this day and might be the best Rider suits ever.

the henshin pose/sequence is more dynamic, making it looks more powerful compared to modern riders that mostly uses gadgets... which can't be helped really, because the trend and market are different from way back then. As well as the business practice and the whole toku show itself has changed.
