Croatia is a small country but has given the world a lot of people who have made an impact on the world over the years. Here is a list of famous people who were born right here in Croatia!

Andrija Mohorovčić ... should definitely be mentioned. Famous meteorologist and seismologist. Mohorovičić made the greatest contribution to science with the discovery of discontinuities in the Earth's crust. Through a very thorough study of the Pokupsko earthquake of October 8, 1909, 39 kilometers southeast of Zagreb, Mohorovičić determined that at a certain depth of the Earth, the speed of propagation of the seismic wave changes rapidly, which he attributed to changes in the composition of the Earth's crust at a depth of 54 kilometers, at the location measurements in Pokupski. Numerous later studies have proven the existence of the boundary surface (speed discontinuity surface) of the uppermost part of the Earth and in other areas of our planet, so this surface was named Mohorovičić's discontinuity, or Moho for short, in his honor. It has been shown that the thickness of the Earth's crust, or the depth of the Mohorovicič discontinuity, is not the same everywhere and that it changes from place to place.

Josip Kašman was a world-famous Baritone opera singer. He performed all over the world and was called the "King of Baritone". He was born on the lovely island of Mali Lošinj in 1850. You can find recordings of him singing on YouTube. Sometimes spelled Guiseppe Kashmann.
