Welcome to Oslo, Norway, where electrification has become a way of life. Oslo is on a mission to achieve a nearly 100% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 2009 levels. They're electrifying everything from construction sites to scooters, with a focus on the construction and transportation sectors, which contribute the most to emissions. Electric cars have become the norm, thanks to government policies that incentivize their adoption. Oslo's ferries are now the world's first all-electric passenger ferries.

Apparently, there’s a huge government incentive if individuals decide to go electric. Moreover, Norway is a big exporter of fossil fuels so in this way they’re trying to “offset” their carbon emission.

Abolish cars electric or not they are terrible for your health, the environment, and economies. Embrace public transport and walk/bikeability

Since most Americans have never leave the city they were born in they don't have a clue how bad they have it.

And yet surprisingly none of these efforts impact world temperatures by more than a degree, if that.

We and the rest of the world must do the same if we are to prevent the collapse of our civilization due to pollution caused by ICE vehicles and fossil fuels. We must figure things out along the way. There is much to figure out.

Yeah but in the US electricity is made from fossil fuels so the problem is more even worse due to the fact that more fuel gets used up to make the electricity to run those vehicles

Is it possible to have something other than electricity to power things? Like what if things could be powered with neutrino energy or higs boson energy carried through wires or even something more wild?

Why don’t we talk to our politicians and celebrities about there private planes and get that banned first. That seems like a good place to start.

Norway is the Dubai of Europe. They are a tiny country with giant oil and gas reserves. So yeah they can pay for all these things because of oil.

That doesn’t seem like a good idea. whats the redundancy.

What people don’t know is hat gasoline prices in Western Europe has always been insanely expensive because of the taxes imposed on the fuel, similar to what California does. I once paid $11 per gallon of gas in the Netherlands for my Jeep Cherokee and it nearly broke me, lol. So people still own and drive gas powered cars but electric vehicles are only a little cheaper to own and operate.

Do they have rooftop solar for the sunny months ?

Solar PV panels in cold air are more efficient and the days are longer.
Some fossil fuels in winter is better than all year.

Try that in an American city and get ready for prioritized electric services (politicians and people with $$$), weekly brownouts, and major services going offline at random like trains and traffic lights.
