Expanded description and interactive score on Musescore:

I was impatient to get some version of this out there and see what you think, as i've been working on this since the beginning of 2015. This was a spontaneous recording after a practice session. I hope I can get a more solid and musical recording soon, but the piece is technically highly demanding (though doable).

The arrangement as sheet music was considered to be quite solid and unlikely to change substantially as of 16th of January 2017, the last small change was on 2019-01-26.

I do not currently plan on arranging the other movements, as it's a mountain of work not of my profession, and i feel particularly the third movement is not nearly as interesting as the first.

I can't imagine playing this at full speed. Amazing work arranging and trying to play it! The double notes look like a nightmare.

I will literally pay you money to do the other movements.

Mainly because, I'm shocked an arrangement for solo piano hasn't been done by now. The original piece for two pianos is such a fantastic work!

Lovely. I was lucky to play this very piece with a former teacher of mine at a concert. It's a great piece and you've done it justice with this transcription!
...relax on those downwards arpeggio figures, though!!! :)

Thank you so much for this arrangement! It's a lovely piece. I'm glad I will have the opportunity to play it since I don't have any friends who will do the duet with me (also, which ordinary hobbyist can fit two pianos in the same room?!)

Do you live in Berlin? If you are planning to re-record your arrangement, I might come in a couple of months with tools and tune your grand piano absolutely for free... this arrangement deserves having been recorded on a perfectly tuned instrument.
By the way, this recording was the first time I heard this sonata, so all other versions will be compared in my brain with this fresh first impression. I loved those parallel scales... The overall impression is like that of Godowsky’s 25-1 à la “four hands” arrangements: it is so rich that an impression of two people at the piano emerges.

Rob Forberg of Leipzig published a version of this great sonata arranged for piano solo by Ludwig Stark in the late 19th. century. It appears in Klassischer Hausschatz Heft 23 (plate 1743) and includes the work in its entirety, i.e. all 3 movements. I have a photocopy of it in my collection.

Hi Simon, I absolutely without a doubt love your performance and arrangement! Im in complete awe how you arranged a duo performance into solo and managed to play it!
Obviously all credit and rights goes to you for this arrangement (and Mozart for this piece if you count it lol).
But anyways, I was wondering if I could create a video on this arrangement. As stated before, all credit goes to you (Description and pinned comment).
Hopefully we agree and settle something out 😄
Thanks for reading, Simon.

Nice try but it was a little bit slow. I'm going to write a solo myself!
