My vote and money would go to the Yamaha because of the value and reliability.

Pre-installing all the tech on the KTM only to switch it off after 1500km!? Thats so shameless it's actually amusing 😂

KTM installing the tech on the bike, having a trial mode, and then removing it as an additional cost!? Not a strategy that should be encouraged 👎

The reason why I choose to go with Yamaha is because of KTM's greedy business decision to lock its features behind a paywall. Its reliability is already assumed to be questionable, but now we have to pay even more to use the bike at its fullest. Just shows the company's true intent with their customers.

MT09, it won’t break down. Difficult decision as both are my favourite manufacturers but KTM have let themselves down with reliability and now the pricing is well off the mark

Bought a 24 MT09 and love it. Saved 3k vs the Duke and I can actually ride it rather than jt being in the shop the whole time

The ktm headlight looks like someone forgot to put a cover on it during assembly

The MT-09 isn’t going to require new cams before it’s second service or lock you out of functionality after 1500km, oh sorry demo mode.

As an owner of both KTM and Yamaha, I would say the Yammie is way more reliable.

I tested the 990 and it was awesome. But the price with the tech pack was just rediculous. So I got a year old 1290 Super Duke Evo for that money in stead.

Yamaha all day. Especially the SP model.

You've already paid for the 'extras' on the KTM, they're already installed on the bike!

KTM: “…after (trying the features) the customer can make an informed buying decision…”

Me: “I’ve made my buying decision, and it’s to buy a Yamaha or Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Ducati, BMW, …”

Since the MT09 came on the market, I've tried it, tested every new model, just to find it a bit better than the older version. But never good enough. I haven't tried the latest version. But I doubt I will. The handling is just not good enough. The KTM is so much better when it comes to handling.
So my advice is, try them! And when you have, buy the one that puts the biggest smile on your face.

As an mt09 owner, I’m fairly convinced Yamaha challenged the engineering department to create a bike so good that it would sell despite the design department trying their best to make it as ugly as possible.

The yamaha gets it for me! The KTM will have you time visiting the dealer having it fixed constantly and arguing with KTM UK for warranty repairs.

A lot of people talk about KTM but never owned one . A lot of people dont take care of there bike either… Never had any problem with any of them.

KTM - Pre-installing all the tech and then blocking it after 1500km (unless you pay a subscription lol🤣)
KTM - Since the end of the year, they started to assemble the bikes in China (not manufactured there, but still) and raise the prices in ridiculous amount (ex: the 790 adventure had a 1000€ raise over the last year lool)
Yamaha - Reliability, fun, no bullshit, just pure awesomeness.

I choose Yamaha ANY DAY.

Having your track pack behind a pay wall is one thing even though it's still dumb.... But locking cruise control is absolute nonsense. They need to fire whoever thought that was a good idea.

KTM pulled off an "Amazon Prime" model of payment where you pay upfront only to be told to pay again to get what you really want to get 🤷
