What she's really saying, which is the only honest thing to say, is that -some- most people are not bright enough to become GM. And she's quite right. Heck, she even felt kind of sorry to say that, whilst also stressing she would never want to insult people.

No you can not be a chess Grandmaster. Being that to qualify you must win tournaments (plural) and they cost money to enter tournaments and travel. Also higher rated players will not play an 1800 player in a tournament, if higher player loses they go down a lot and if you win you go up a little. Really hard to start when you are an adult, unlike Nemo here. Nemo played as a child in tournaments more likely to win. And gain the title of GM, her case WGM and FM. Not same as GM title 2300+ elo #Facts
