2026 Kia Sportage | Kia's Most Popular Model Gets More Power, Sharper Looks

For 2026 Kia has given the Sportage a somewhat unexpected refresh. Not only do we get sharper (and less controversial) looks, buyers also get more hybrid and plug in hybrid power, smoother transmissions, Kia's latest infotainment software, and more tech!

I just bought the 2025 hybrid and I love the whole look -- front end included. It's a great car.

I enjoyed the previous boomerang design previously versus this. They should have kept it unique, but this is still a pretty design. I do agree with the knob versus the stick. They got rid of a lot of the gloss, which was a good move. Instead of a PHEV though, they should copy what Honda does with their hybrids. Overall, not a bad vehicle.

The biggest deal of this refresh is getting rid of the piano black in the center console and door controls. That is such a big deal in terms of usability that it'd be worth waiting for a 2026 model alone. It still baffles me that piano black hasn't completely died from car interiors yet.

I have the 2023 X-Pro, I love the daytime running lights. The refresh is ok, the new light design follows their current design, the interior updates are nice too. Kia is definitely a worthy brand. I’m very impressed. I’ll still very excited with my 2023 X-Pro. Great review, Great job Kia.

Wow, they got rid of a lot of the piano black. I had to get covers for mine, so it's nice to see they've addressed it. I personally like the prior face but I'd like to swap out my tailights for these ones.

we need a test about the mechanical vs e4wd, i don't think there is as much of a difference for most people, unless your doing serious off-roading, which you'll never do in this car

Love the AoA car show content! I like the thoughtful interior details from Kia/Hyundai but I have a hard time with the exterior design. It’s definitely trendy, not timeless. That said, I’d rather have the climate control have dedicated buttons while making stuff like auto brake-hold something to access through a menu.

I wish they would simplify the hybrid and move to a range extender system. Ditch the troublesome DCT entirely and go with a bigger electric motor + stronger batteries. Looks good otherwise.

Much improved front for sure, disliked the boomarang DRLs on the 2024 models.
