Russian 'peacekeeping' claim is 'nonsense', US envoy tells UN

US ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told an emergency UN security council meeting Vladimir Putin's Putin’s assertion Russian troops would take on a “peacekeeping” role in the Donetsk and Lugansk areas was 'nonsense'.

The later night meeting took place after Putin recognised separatist areas of Eastern Ukraine as independent. Member states called for diplomacy while Ukrainian representative Sergiy Kyslytsya called for an immediate withdrawal of occupation troops. "The United Nations is sick. That’s a matter of fact," he said. "It has been hit by the virus spread by the Kremlin. Will it succumb to this virus?"

I'm Kenyan. Our ambassador has no clue what he's talking about. He doesn't understand history.
It's a shame to watch Kenya engage in politics that it probably doesn't understand, it's being used as a mouth piece for war mongering NATO, which has been supplying weapons to Kiev and edging it to ignore the Minsk agreement, which Kiev is signatory to, allowing autonomy to those regions, which have been protesting against what NATO countries did..which was to overthrow a democratically elected government in Kiev and replacing it with makeshift vassals of which the current government is a child of.
What my Kenyan ambassador does not understand here is that, nevermind Ukraine, it's Russia which is being targeted for surrounding with nuclear weapons, I don't believe that the Russians would be sitting down and just hoping it's all going to end well.
What my ambassador to un should have been categorical to, is to renounce NATO as defunct and call for it's dismantling as it's a destabilising organisation.
We've seen what happened in Libya, our own African country, Ethiopia is being undermined by USA, which is supporting the Tigreans..for what reason and purpose, is it not keep Africa down? Look at Syria, Afghanistan, where has the condemnation been? None!
But being a Kenyan, I believe that the ambassador does not believe what Russia has done is wrong. It's helping to avoid another genocide, we didn't help Rwanda, we can't talk about Ukraine.
