Appreciate your attention to the details. Those seatbelts were hell. The ratchet would tighten with every bump and turn. I would have to take it off and reattach it fairly often

Thanks for the great video Chris. Love your content. I am the proud owner of a 67 Deluxe. I have read a few articles about the "Deluxe" but just wanted to know what majors differences this model had. Im in Australia so yes, its RH drive. I have only just acquired it so just starting on the rebuild. I have a 69 Astrum Beach Buggy to finish first. 95% complete.

My first 1967 Beetle was 50 years ago. Today I still own a 1967 Beetle. This one being my 3rd. I have owned many Volkswagens over the years. Earliest a 1950 the latest was a 1970.

My first car was a Red 1967 VW Beetle purchased new when I was 14 years old with my paper route earnings. It cost $1, 951.75 with $200 worth of options. Black Leatherette interior, Radio, pop out rear windows, under dash shelf and undercoat. I learned to drive in that car

Hey Chris.

Thanks for the video. It's great to see the '67 get some love.
I've had my Savannah Beige '67 (9/66) since '78 and it was very original when I got it.

A couple of comments.
The mirrors were dealer installed. Mine had a 101 round mirror.
The late '66 dooe handles are visually similar but are not interchangeable with the '67 handles.
Disc brakes were required with the 1500 in certain markets to meet safety regulations.

Awesome video. I read that my '67 would have had a Sapphire V or VI radio which is the 1 year only radio. I guess the V is AM only and the VI is AM/FM. Luckily the previous (original) owner hadn't cut up the dash, so I was able to find a working Sapphire VI to go in it. It wasn't cheap, and not great sound quality, but so cool to hear tunes coming out of an almost 60 year old radio. Also, the driver fender was damaged 30 years ago so I have 1 original fender and one aftermarket. I would have never noticed the difference in the little grills if not for one of your previous videos.

I think the German beetles had metal dash until 71 or 72. I have a 69 (Sep. 68) with metal dash and chrome. Can't wait to drive it in the spring! It's been a long winter here in Norway :/

Terrific rundown! My wife and I got married in 1972. At that time she drove a beige 1967 Beetle and I drove a red 1970. As college students, the Beetles were prefect for us. They were cheap and reliable transportation. All these years later we thought it would be fun to get an old Beetle. I guess because of what we had in the early days, I wanted to get either a 1967 or a 1970. I really wanted a 1967 but found out very quickly that '67's in good shape were way expensive so we settled for another '70. It's such a fun car to putter around in and whenever we do take it out we have to plan extra time because there's always someone who wants to stop and ask us about the car and then tell us stories about the Beetle they once had. And we dearly love hearing those stories. Thanks for this terrific video about the '67's!

My first car was a 1967. Bought it back in the summer of 1974. My father worked at the VW dealership in Charlotte, NC and the car had been in an accident. The front end was flattened up to the front tires. Dad and I spent the summer doing the body work and getting it ready to drive back to Ohio (which is where I lived). After the body work, a complete paint job and an engine top end, I drove the car for 10 years. The Ohio rust finally got the best of it, but I think of that car often!

Nice information presented on this special year Beetle. Just picked up a Savana Biege California, San Diego 67. Same owner for the last 55 years, garaged all correct happy to send pics.

I bought a '67 Bug w/Sunroof last summer. White with black interior. Engine is from a '70, so my backup lights weren't' wired back in. I LOVE DRIVING this Bug. It was nice here in NC today, so I drove it to lunch outing.

Hello! I have a 67' Lotus White, LHD, with red upholstery. it is the Euro version, with old model headlights, disc brake at the front, rubber knobs, and its original 1500 engine that is really pleasant to drive. It's the best car I've had so far. Greetings from Chile
