Me too! But I keep on having this urge to survey kids coming out of school on their way home by asking them, "Does the name Art Tatum mean anything to you?” I'm in the UK and I would be extremely surprised if even one student has heard of this towering figure of jazz piano. I have listened to his playing for over 60 years and STILL he never fails to astonish in so many ways. Rachmaninov and Horowitz both agreed….."Than God he's not a classical pianist, otherwise we'd both be out of a job!"
