One week ago the world paused, as I released my review of Dune. It is only fitting I follow up this week with a deeper dive into the Bene Gesserit. These weirding women are some of the greatest characters in all of science fiction.

Frank Herbert introduces us to the Bene Gesserit in DUNE and its sequels.

I just started Dune. Finally. I think it will quickly become one of my favorite sci fi novels. This is an interesting concept I've seen in a few works, or at least, something similar. I look forward to how Herbert depicts it.

I have only just read dune recently after a time on the TBR. Fantastic run-down of the BG! I am looking forward to continuing on with the series!

Nice opening. So do you use babies as weights at the gym? Great discussion here. I agree that the Bene Gesserit really stand out.

Am I in the minority for not liking Bene Gesserit. What with their eugenics and truthsaying and manipulation of thought and the implanted superstitions they make me think of a dystopian mind controlling ruthless sect.
