Traxxas MAXX V2: Wide MAXX First Impressions...mini XMAXX!

First run on my new Traxxas MAXX V2. This is updated MAXX that comes with the WideMAXX suspension (40mm wider track width), extended chassis (about 25mm longer wheelbase) that can fit the 6700mAh 4s LiPo battery (same battery I use in my XMAXX 8S for longer run times), and Sledgehammer tires (slightly larger diameter and width). I have a Traxxas XMAXX 8S (which I really like) and picked up the first MAXX hoping for a mini version of the XMAXX. I really liked the speed and agility of the first MAXX but with my low RC car driving skills it ended up on it's roof way too many times. When I saw Traxxas had just released an updated MAXX I went to Cyclone Hobbies (Columbus, Ohio) to pick one up. The increased stability of the new MAXX V2 was instantly noticeable on my first run. I could slide though corners under power or on the brakes and the MAXX V2 never rolled or flipped. The wider track, bigger tires, and longer wheelbase all work together to make this new MAXX noticeably more stable and for me way more fun to drive. It did loose some steering quickness that more skilled RC guys might notice but I think the tradeoff is well worth the new found stability.

The new MAXX V2 finally feels like a mini XMAXX which is exactly what I was hoping for!

Thanks for posting these RC videos up. Recently we had our septic system replaced so the backyard lawn is trashed until the summer. I've been thinking about getting a couple RC's to make a track with the kiddos between the training mode and it being more stable this looks perfect. Thanks again.

Rub some olive oil on your treads when you go out into the snow. It wont stick to your tires and so on😊
