🍪HARP ISLES BETA RELEASE DATE: Late 2024
^ (There's no real set date, but this is what they're aiming for, and if it doesn't come out, it will likely just be a little bit after.)
So yeah, 1-5 months is a good prediction

🦆BTW, I'm not meaning to say that COS is better or worse,
The point of this video is to show what to expect from harp isles and comparing it to what we already have.

They're different and it all depends on what you like,

EXAMPLE: COS has more creatures, while harp isles has more 'developed' creatures.
EXAMPLE: COS seems more kid-friendly, simple, collecting creatures, while harp isles focuses more on realistic survival.

BOTH games are good in their OWN way, so you can't really directly compare them

I would some other positive things to note about harp isle-

1. No gacha based system, you’ll be able to buy whatever creatures you want with no gambling.

2. No customizing skins, but you can buy more from shops or by completing missions

3. Any role exclusives will not be tradable, that way the economy doesn’t collapse.

4. Since kids will mostly stick to CoS (presumably) it lets more experienced players enjoy the game more. Allowing for more realistic and less toxic gameplay.

5. Devs are usually very open and supportive of the community, even setting up a system for people to become artists and make commissions

6. Once the game is released, they plan to start off by releasing 16-17 creatures, giving plenty of choice to first time players.

7. The game has unique NPC’s that way if you want to play solo, you can still have fun.

8. Also it is going to be available on all device, mobile, PC, (idk about console but if you have a friend in the game you should be able to join them)

9- THE BETA IS GONNA BE

harp isles is heavily based off james camerons avatar movies, so it makes sense that the creatures look more alien with 6 legs and 4 eyes

My biggest issue with COS is that the environment doesn’t feel real, it doesn’t feel like the creatures in COS actually LIVE in COS’s map, especially the taller creatures

honestly i feel like COS's insane roster is what hurts it as a *creature survival* game, there are more creatures in sonaria than pokemon had in the first two games, which has led to many issues, like power creep, the crazy economy, and how hard it is to balance each and every single creature, while ALSO making each creature be unique enough from eachother outside of different designs (1:35)
COS is more of a creature collecting game than a survival one, which i guess helps give the game its own identity?? idk just my thoughts

Love the alien aesthetic, plus the creatures look related, like in real world mammals can be traced to common ancestor, that makes it really cool for me. Am I the only one that gets the avatar vibes?

Hopefully this game doesn’t have the same problem as cos

i LOVE the creatures in harp. i hate how random the cos creatures are like robots, the giant creatures far to big for the map, the whole royalty thing, etc. Im so excited for ACTUAL realism yippe!!
+ the lack of skin creation was soo amazing for me. i do enjoy making skins but it adds onto the already extreme lack of realistic survival in cos, and seeing a neon dragon is just a bit.. ehh.
im def switching over once it comes out!!

Hopefully Harp Isles :
-will not have over-accessorized creatures; so far they look like actual species
-won't get Malgamation Island's fate
-will have graphic lowering settings (such as shadow, filter/blur and texture removal)
-will have camera motion settings (I don't mind the camera motion during flight, but I feel like some players may experience motion sickness?)

I always love smaller creatures over the giant kaiju sized creatures. Whenever I play cos I never usually go above T3. Something about being a smaller creature and having the world around you be this big place with little areas to explore enchants me.

I will make some points that are spinning around in my head for a while.

1. On my opinion, an overwhelming map, a well-designed flora and a creative fauna is the living key for a creature survival game.

2. Both plants and animals from Harp Isles look very alien alike, even having some resemblance with Earth flora, which is good, they really took inspiration on Avatar in a good way.

3. Creatures Of Sonaria fauna are always 50/50, half of the times, the Creatures Of Sonaria animals are solid, the other half are hard to distinct what the artist had in mind, not because of the complexity of the design, but because they decide to make a whole party parade on the design with too many messy details that end up ruining their creatures.

4. Creatures Of Sonaria flora is boring, the plants and trees and plain with zero creativity, for example, the redwood forest, the trees are too small for the creatures that live in Sonaria, the trees look like ground bushes, and have nothing special, they are just regular Earth trees.

5. Creatures Of Sonaria biomes make me feel like I am at a round and small bucked, I really don't like the bridges between the biomes, make them feel even smaller, and the sea corridors as well, it's too hard to swim across them as behemoth size creatures, and even the open area of the ocean feel small, like, there is no way an ocean that small can sustain an aquatic life form two times bigger than a blue whale, and there are too many water sources around the map.

6. Just giving a biome rework idea. They could remake the waterfall at jungle, make way bigger with a lake where at least a large tier creature can fit and swim, and add some caves on the waterfall so small tiers can live there, and from the waterfall lake, connect a river that runs from jungle, cross Pride Rock and end up on the sea, removing the pride rocks lake and making the grass bigger, adding some medium-sized trees where small tier creatures can live and hide near, remove the big rocks since we already have those on Central Rock faces, add small ones so large tier creatures, especially herbivores can walk around and eat the grass on that area, so the Pride Rocks biome feels bigger, make it easy to walk around it and feels less like a Pride Rock 2.0.

Bye.

This NPC thing would prob fix the Kosing problem. If the npcs are like prey and predator npcs and they add a diet system, it would probably have less kosers.
This games also reminding me allot of legacy cos, very curved trees, camera zooms out, water ways, and etc.

Edit : 500 LIKES BABY WOOOO🎉🎉🎉

About skin customizing: There won't be option for that, but there will be option to buy/get skins made by creators from missions and in game store if I remember correctly (It was mentioned in Q&A)

Harp Isles' creatures look so much more detailed than Creatures of Sonaria. They remind me so much of Avatar more than CoS and other Sonar games- COUGH- COUGH
And I do feel like the people that have grown out of the simplicity of CoS will like HA. The only issue I see is optomization of lag(something CoS devs still have trouble with) happening to HA.

Edit: Also love the inclusion of teasers giving some insight on Harp Isles. Even if there won't be human characters like Jeff walking around, it would be interesting to drop these scientists announcing different events and new creatures as they're added.

I am getting pretty tired of Creatures of Sonaria, their economy sucks. I am not saying I hate COS, I've been playing since the beta phase, but ever since, the game has just been getting worse... The only update I appreciated was when they made a new map. Why can't they focus on the map more than the creatures? I need some actual new stuff to explore. And their creature earning system is even worse. All you have to do is grind countless hours for some tier 2 that you aren't gonna use, I want something fun to do in it, not waste my life getting some useless creature. They could have made the missions for getting the creatures have more variety, but its all the same. And don't get me started on events, they are literally the same exact thing over and over again, just with different looks. Compare the Christmas event with the Halloween event, they both require smashing a bunch of snowmen or pumpkins. It's repetitive and stupid. The combat system is bad too, all you do is click, click, click, use an ability or two, and the loser transforms into a ribcage with meat in it. I hope harp isles has a better combat system, with combos, unique abilities exclusive to the creature, and actual skill required. The only skill you need for COS combat is have fingers for clicking. That's it. Now I know that the majority of games also require clicking for attacking, I mean that's the iconic key to use for an attack. But the actual good PVP games have different keys for different moves, and different combinations with different combos. COS doesn't have anything like that besides breath or abilities, which lets be real, don't require any skill either. I need a game with variety, I need an actual fun game where I can explore an open map and have fun fighting.

Let's get one thing clear, I still enjoy COS despite all that negative stuff. No, the game isn't as terrible as I made it sound, I was just pointing out the flaws and how to make it better. If Sonar Studios could could improve everything I listed, I would have a blast playing it. I am definitely gonna play Harp Isles for a better, more realistic and fun experience. I really hope that Harp Isles will be fun for me, I am desperate for a good experience. Thanks for reading, and no hate to COS, I just needed to knock some sense into the game for once.

fun fact the devs told us that there is gonna be role species in this game too but unlike cos they are not gonna be tradeable so no economy destroying creatures since all of the exclusive ones will be untradeable also the skins for the creatures will be preset meaning there wont be any skin customization this has its good and bad sides but overall understandable
edit: its kinda meh comparing a newly upcoming game and a few year old game but i can say that the difference between both of the games alpha/beta state will be massive

Another thing I like is that the creatures are usually WAY smaller than the ones in Creatures of Sonaria. There are too many behemoths 😭😭

I just hope both games can coexist peacefully across communities yk
