Thank you so much for your thoughts. You addressed pretty much all of my concerns (possible dislikes) about Teaching Textbooks but after watching this video, I’m going to try it and realize although it’s not my ideal program, it’s probably the best for our family.

I have used this for HS math. Really great at breaking down every step before adding on.

We're new to homeschooling and using EP and KhanAcademy math for our Kindergartener. I'll strongly consider TT in a few years since I'll have to start Kindergarten for her younger brother. Need to save time where I can.

I just started looking into the teaching text books last night and did some sample stuff. We are going to do the placement tests today. I love the fact that I technically don’t have to teach math because it really is an intimidating subject. The math books I originally got sent really starting where I want. I would like something where they have to review the basic fundamentals of math but then maybe gets a little harder as they go. With Covid and schools being out last year I didn’t see them doing much math at all with distance learning. I think this is a great option for them. Thank you for the review, this was super helpful!!

I am excited to use this in our upcoming year. This was our 1st year home schooling and my daughter struggles so much with math. We used Abeka and it was a total bomb

We love TT 3.0! My kids love that they get to pick the background and their help buddy. I love I dont have to keep up with papers or grades, its all done on there. Which is wonderful for us because we dont have a lot of space for our homeschool. We used to use abeka for math, so I agree on placing a grade level above where the child would be at.

Great review. We used TT about 6-7 years ago for pre-algebra and algebra for my older daughter. At that time it was a book with a program you download, but it did have the automatic grade book and the extra functions. We rarely used the book. I really liked the option of watching the solution, but found it hard to get my daughter to utilize it. She says it is because it took too much time. Of course now in college, she would utilize it in a heartbeat! Trying to decide if we want to revisit this curriculum for our youngest who is going into 4th grade. At this time we are using Easy Peasy Homeschool, but as she gets older I like the idea of having the lessons provided by someone else. I do remember that the voice on the lecture tended to be a bit monotone. Not sure if this has changed though.

Brilliant! Thank you so much for your review of T.T., the comments on grade levels etc., were informative. I find the most difficult thing about H.S. is finding a Math program that teaches but files in line with your state guidelines. The publishers do not focus much on the development of H.S. curriculum in tandem with state guidelines especially as the child grows. We have used "Go Math", difficult for the parent who is not onto common core. Also, Alek, it is nice but does not help the student if they get stuck, help aid is not sufficient. Saxon was a good program but requires the instructor to teach traditional classroom style. Pat

Thanks for this Erin, Clara and I were discussing math for next year and I had heard of this curriculum. We did a youtube search for a review and yours popped up! So well done we watched it together and Clara looks forward to trying it next year.

My 7th grader loves TT. He said it's better than what we were using because it explains the concepts to him. Also, we took the placement test before using it.

My third grader, who has ADHD, loves math and computers/video games, so it was no-brainer to do TT! He focuses much better than if he would be doing worksheets. He’s doing Math 3 and after watching your video, I might skip ahead to multiplication because so far it’s too easy, but then again, a little review isn’t a bad thing. 🤔 The farthest he got in 2nd grade is addition/subtraction 3 digit numbers, so in his case, Math 3 is right where he needs to be. Math 4 would be too hard. So happy we don’t have to do common core anymore, lol! Thanks for the review!

I was just watching your other videos wondering, "what does The Eclectic Homeschooler use for math" then boom, you uploaded a math recommendation! I'm glad I found your channel and we are in the same state!
