Hi Beth, I have just recently discovered you and appreciate your perspective. As a mother of 6 daughters (ages 13-28) and 53 years old myself, I like to separate myself from their fashion styles, and makeup ect.. . IMHO, you have a wonderful and sophisticated look in both areas.
Since you asked, I do want to pass along one tip I was introduced to recently and that is primer for mascara. I like the one by torte and it really makes a huge difference. I think if you try it you may opt to skip the eyelash curler. I also agree with you and swear by lip liner and lipstick. Thank you for coming on sans make up. It is helpful to know that we are all dealing with the same kinds of challenges as we age.

I really love MAC's paint pot in Painterly as a base for my eye shadow. So thrilled to find a contemporary on YouTube who enjoys makeup. I will be using your advice for fashion. That's the gene I don't have!

I am about the same age as you. I also use Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer/foundation and their spot coverage, like you. They sold me a brush that comes with it. I have tried a variety of primers, I am liking the Clarins one right now, , "Lisse Minute". But I also like The Pore by benefit, which I got as a sample from Sephora. I just bought a eye lid foundation from Fenty Beauty. I am not sure it was worth purchasing. I am still undecided about it. Maybe some one else here, has tried something that works better.

When I go out I use only:
Benefit eyebrow mechanical pencil
Benefit undereye concealer
Clinique liquid foundation makeup
Clinique loose powder on nose
Clinique pressed pink powder blush
YSL lipstick
THAT IS ALL

Just found your channel and am loving It! I'm 55, and still have my natural strawberry blonde hair. I've also have strawberry blonde eyelashes and eyebrows. What are the rules about wearing black mascara on blonde or strawberry blonde eyelashes? I'm seeing more younger girls with no mascara on their strawberry blonde eyelashes. Also in the Sargent's Diner scene of the movie, GIANT, with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson, the waitress wore I make up yet no mascara!
Also, an employee at Sephora showed me a water-based Foundation with an SPF of 30, that immediately turns from liquid to powdery matte, by Smashbox, I believe. Have you tried this Foundation? I to live in the south and being so fair-complected need all the sun protection on my face I can get. Because I work out at the gym on a daily basis I would love to find a foundation that would hold up during my workout. Any and all advice would be so helpful. Thank you so very much
