🇧🇬 MUSALA - 2,925 m. ΧΕΙΜΕΡΙΝΗ [In the highest peak of the Balkans]

#musala #mountains #go_on_the_road Χειμερινή ανάβαση στη "Μουσαλά" (2.925 μ.), ένα τοπόσημο της ορειβασίας καθώς είναι η ψηλότερη κορυφή των Βαλκανίων και γενικά της Αν. Ευρώπης...Είναι ότι ψηλότερο μεταξύ των Άλπεων και του Καυκάσου...Ανήκει στην οροσειρά της "Rila" και με μέση θερμοκρασία -3 C όλο το έτος, είναι το ψυχρότερο μέρος των Βαλκανίων.
Ξεκινήσαμε το ξημέρωμα της 29/01/2024 με αφετηρία το Borovets, την ανάβαση με άσχημο καιρό. Από το καταφύγιο του Yastrebets στα 2.369 μ. οι συνθήκες έγιναν πιο αντίξοες. Θερμοκρασία από -13 C εως και -19 C και με ριπές ανέμου 60-65 km/h η αίσθηση της θερμοκρασίας έφτανε το -26 C !!!
Η χαμηλή ορατότητα και η χιονόπτωση μας έκαναν μετά από 1,5 ώρες πορεία από το Yastrebets, να επιστρέψουμε πίσω.
Μετά από αναμονή για κάποιο "παράθυρο" του καιρού, το πρωί την 31/01/2024 με μια ηλιόλουστη μέρα αλλά με ισχυρό παγετό, ξεκινήσαμε εκ νέου την προσπάθεια για την κορυφή.
Μετά από 5,5 ώρες φουλ χειμερινής ανάβασης βρεθήκαμε στην κορυφή "Μουσαλά" 2.925 μ. Ισχυρές ριπές παγωμένου ανέμου έκαναν την κορυφή εντελώς αφιλόξενη και η παραμονή μας ήταν ολιγόλεπτη.
Πραγματοποιήσαμε την ίδια μέρα κατάβαση στο Borovets καλύπτοντας μια υψομετρική διαφορά 1.600 μ.
Διανύσαμε 19 χιλ. συνολικά σε 09:30 ώρες σε ένα δυνατό χειμερινό βουνό, ανοίγοντας ένα κύκλο προετοιμασίας για πιο δυνατές εμπειρίες στο μέλλον.
***Την ανάβαση σε αυτή την επιβλητική κορυφή την αφιερώνουμε στην παντοτινή αξέχαστη αγάπη την μικρή ΘΑΛΕΙΑ. Την μέρα που εμείς ανεβαίναμε στην κορυφή, την ίδια μέρα πριν 20 χρόνια οι άγγελοι έγιναν περισσότεροι καθώς η 2χρονη Θάλεια πήρε την δική της θέση στον βρεφονηπιακό σταθμό της αιωνιότητας!!! Θάλεια στην Μουσαλά ήρθαμε λίγο πιο κοντά σου...Θα σε θυμόμαστε πάντα!!!
Winter climb to "Musala" (2,925 m), a landmark of mountaineering as it is the highest peak of the Balkans and in general of Northern Europe...It is the highest between the Alps and the Caucasus...It belongs to the mountain range of "Rila " and with an average temperature of -3 C throughout the year, it is the coldest part of the Balkans.
We started at dawn on 29/01/2024 starting from Borovets, the climb in bad weather. From the shelter of Yastrebets at 2,369 m the conditions became more adverse. Temperature from -13 C to -19 C and with wind gusts of 60-65 km/h the feeling of temperature reached -26 C !!!
Low visibility and snowfall made us turn back after 1.5 hours of march from Yastrebets.
After waiting for some "window" of the weather, in the morning of 31/01/2024 with a sunny day but with strong frost, we restarted the summit attempt.
After 5.5 hours of full winter ascent we found ourselves at the peak "Musala" 2,925 m. Strong gusts of icy wind made the peak completely inhospitable and our stay was only a few minutes.
We made the same day descent to Borovets covering an altitude difference of 1,600 m.
We traveled 19 km in total in 09:30 hours on a strong winter mountain, opening a circle of preparation for stronger experiences in the future.
***We dedicate the climb to this imposing peak to our forever unforgettable love, little THALEA. The day we climbed to the top, the same day 20 years ago, the angels became more numerous as 2-year-old Thalia took her own place in the nursery of eternity!!! Thalia from Musala we came a little closer to you... We will always remember you!!!
