I wanted to make a series of videos to better explain the Festool LR32 system and how it works. This is the first video to simply explaining a little bit about the LR32. In the up coming videos I will go more into the LR32 and how it works with the European frameless 32mm cabinet building method. So make sure to subscribe for more fun with the LR32 system. It's a fantastic accessory to help speed up your production and to simplify door and drawer installation. Thanks for watching. Eric

Eric, I recently picked up an LR32 systematic and then went looking for a couple of videos on how to. I wanted to thank you as your videos by far the best. You explain the process very well. And after watching was able to but a couple of cabinets together with few issues. Thanks. Keep the videos coming. Take care.

Thank you for a very high quality, informative and educational video on the LR32 system. Don't hesitate to make more videos describing the proper use of Festool tools!

Super, All the rails can be joined together with the rail connectors. It's recommended to use 2 rail connectors. So you could connect a LR 32 rail with any of the other rails. I have the FS 2424/2-LR 32 rail as well. I use it for cross cuts on a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. My opinion is, that it's a pain in the butt to use a regular rail with a LR32 rail for drilling a long row of holes. I've tried it for on project, and it drove me nuts, so I bought the 95" LR32 rail. Fantastic LR32 videos, easy to watch, you are great in front of a camera. Really appreciated all the tips, would never have figured them out on my own. Also, especially liked the secret information in the last one. Watched all of them, one after another, then ordered the router, vacuum, and LR32 system. Thanks.

Just bought the LR32 - have a bunch of cabinets to build and was putting off the purchase, but the upcoming price increase kind of pushed me into it - your videos, found on FOG, REALLY helped with the decision - thanks so much!

I was fortunate enough for Festool to provide me the LR32 system for the purpose of the videos. I'm sure any Festool dealers can help you with the purchase of the system. Every Festool dealer I have purchased from has been top rate guys with great service. Thanks for watching! Eric

Thanks for the video ... I know you mentioned it, but to make sure nobody missed it like I did the first time, it would be helpful if you add some text to remind people to calibrate the parallel stop rods before clamping down the rail...

Your videos gave me a reason to purchase almost an entire Festool system including the LR32. since their are so many posts, I was hoping you could share all the cut dimensions to these upper cabinets again. This will be my first build using the metric system. I have 704mm and Thanks!

Excellent video quality. Sadly, the sound has a decided "echo" that takes away from a good instruction YouTube aid.

I do wish that all would use a lavaliere mic. It does wonders for sound.

For whatever it's worth.

I recently bought the LR32 system and I find a spindle line boring machine to be far quicker and much easier to use on long gables, unfortunately I can't afford a spindle line boring machine at the moment so I'm in the middle of designing a bench that can secure the work piece and the guide rail securely and quickly. Would you have any tips on what would be the best solution? I was thinking of building a portable bench roughly 8 ft long and buying the MFT profile to attach the rail at either end.

I took a week long Festool sponsered class that included the LR32 system. I have a ton of Festool stuff, but I really couldn't justify this system. Perhaps its good if you're doing the exact same thing all the time, but its not really for the weekend woodworker. We only spent a few hours with LR32, but it wasn't as intuitive for me as all the other Festool equipment I use. I'm sure if I made cabinets for a living, and had a small operation, this would be a great system. However, if you're doing a serious amount of cabinet building, you need a line borer, not the LR32. I guess this is for the guy that builds a small amount of cabinets per year. Also, the router plate is temperamental. The little aluminum holes begin to get worn down and become inaccurate over time. If you want to have a cabinet making shop, buy a line borer. Yeah, they are expensive, even compared to Festool, but the LR32 system is simply too complicated for anyone that just makes the occassional cabinet and someone that makes a living making cabinets really needs a system where they can just place the sides in, pull the lever and bore every hole at the same time with more repeatable accuracy. The speed and accuracy difference between a line borer and the LR32 is like the difference in speed and accuracy with ripping wood with a handsaw or with a cabinet saw. To be honest, I'm not sure what niche the LR32 is filling. That Rockler jig will work for most people, or better yet, use Woodpecker's system. Everything else Festool I own, well worth the money.

I also feel the same with the CMS router table. It's limited in use (but love the slider) and there are finer router tables for the same amount of money and are much more accurate, better dust collection and more versatile.

How easy is to use FS 1400/2-LR 32 guide rail on long peaces as i don't want to invest in FS 2424/2-LR 32. 2424 would only serve as a shelf hole cutter. It is too short for cutting 8ft sheets with circular saw

Eric if you only had the 1400 track that comes with the ts55 what Holy Rail size would you buy for the LR32? I could use a longer rail for the ts55 but is the 2424 too long and presumably awkward for the LR32? Or should I buy the 1400 Holy Rail and connect it to my ts55 rail?  Please help haha too many choices.

While I don't know of anyone who doubts the quality of Festool products the LR32 system is obscenely overpriced for what it will do. The cased portion of the system plus the rail (long version) plus the router will run you, with tax, over $1400.00. I have a friend who has the Schmitt 32 mini system which he purchased on Ebay for $350.00 and a DeWalt DW 621 plunge router purchased from Amazon for $250.00 for a total of $600.00 plus tax. I've owned a DeWalt router for over 12 years and have only had to replace the brushes twice. Do yourselves a favor and check out the Schmitt 32 mini.
