As a positioning square that is a pretty nice build.

As a clamping device it is pretty much a failure.

But if you are making a four-sided box, you use four of these to position, and use a strap to apply pressure - you may have something going for you. You'll need to balance tightening these positioning squares with the pressure from the strap.

I wouldn’t use it. This isn’t applying any pressure to the actual glue joint so you are going to be out of square due to lack of squeeze out, as well as just having a weak glue up.

Doesn't work. Holds two boards at right angles, but doesn't hold mating faces together except by accident. There is nothing pushing the mitered faces together.
