You should do some music theory lessons, i like the way you explain, short, on point so everyone can understand.

I haven't seen anyone go over this other than Marty a tiny bit so this is really cool! Marty really loves doing this stuff, Tornado of Souls solo is in Bm but the "Em" gets played over as major often, and he also throws in that phrygian dominant stuff over the F#.

Your lesson videos are rad so please keep them coming!

After only a week or so of learning the arpeggio shapes I know more about the neck then ever before. I recommend everyone learn them!

I found myself accidentally switching between major and minor 3rds while doing vocals for a song recently. The backing chords were all power chords and Sus 2 chords, like you talk about in the video. When I would sing the more tension filled lyrics of the song - "Fallen from grace - trapped by fate" - I naturally gravitated towards minor 3rds. When singing the more uplifting lines - "It's time to stand - death draw back your hand! I won't bow to the grave's demand" - I found myself hitting the major 3rds. This was all accidental, and initially, confusing. But when I went back and did alternate takes trying to stick to either the minor or major 3rd exclusively, I found the song sounded way worse. Pretty neat to see you touching on the same topic. It validates my haphazard, bumbling approach to constructing melodies. Haha

Fantastic lesson. The Friedman analysis and how to apply the concept is very easy to understand.

One thing that i learned is "Take care of the progression, in between, just do whatever you can" :)
