Lots of new Adobe Creative Cloud updates were released this week at Adobe Max, including Lightroom Classic CC. One of my favorite new features is called Depth Masking and in this video, I'll show you how you can use it to mask your edits using a depth map. It's super cool and I believe it's the future of photography!

I've just seen this useful video. Did adobe ever update Lightroom to allow depth mask editing, in a way that the 'Focos' iOS app does?

Thank you for this. Very clear and easy to understand. Appreciate no theatrics too.

So I will be able to use the Iphone depth mask for editing in Lightroom desktop, cool! Hoping this could also apply for a not so heavily processed (and compressed) file in the feature!

Thank you so much for providing this excellent explanation. I also appreciate the support Adobe is providing for Apple innovations.

Editing/saving the depth map my first thought too. My second thought was "Wait, my phone can so something that I can't do with my DSLR...? ...mmm...

Adobe went from ignoring HEIF support for a year to doing something innovative with it. Nice. If only they could ad the ability to edit the actual range mask in photoshop so you could fix the phone’s depth errors.
