Charles, Earl Cornwallis (1738–1805) was a military officer who served in the British Army during the American War of Independence. He is best known for surrendering his army after the 1781 Siege of Yorktown, an act that ended major hostilities in North America and led directly to peace negotiations and the eventual end of the war.

Its amazing how with a music change, this movie gets a much more serious and even a bit more realistic feel (not saying its 100% accurate, but it feels less "joyful" like the movie is. In this trailer it feels much darker and grittier now. WELL DONE

"You serve me and the manner in which you serve me REFLECTS upon me!" One of my favorite quotes and so true with any military leader!

Lord Charles Cornwallis seemed to be the true epitome of a respectable British soldier and patriot. I love how gentlemanly he was portrayed in the film as that was considered important among a noble man as himself. Although I am an American, I still believe that the English and Americans are friends and brothers. As I and many other Americans descended from the great people of the British Isles.

"I advance myself through victory". "You advance yourself only through my good graces." The burn in Cornwallis's answer to Tavington! 🔥🥵

It’s ironic how his actor played such an amazing Benjamin Franklin.

Cornwallis really was a true gentleman. It was perfect how Gibsons character played on this to get the prisoners released. Simply by bringing Cornwallis his dogs and journals, he had to be the proper gentleman and release the prisoners.

As an American, General Cornwallis was one of my favorite characters in the movie. Even him turning a blind eye to the atrocities his subordianted inflicted was understandable after being humiliated by "the ghost and his minutemen."

He deserved a spin off movie of his time in India, played by Tom Wilkinson of course
