The OG script hand Han say "I love you too". In an interview with Harrison, Harrison said Han is a bad boy and needs to keep that image to the end. He suggested saying the last thing any women wants to hear after saying I love you, "I know".

Yup, the Original Trilogy was one of the most grossing Independent films in history. George later spoke of the Irony of Lucasfilm. He made it so he could make the films the way he wanted to. Only to realize he had become the very thing he had fought against in the beginning. lol

Also, George when getting Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope made. he negotiated no money from the studio, so that he could keep the rights to the next 2 films.

"I know" was adlibbed, they filmed that scene so many times, and Director just didn't like it. Harrison didn't like it. They were working in England, and they have strict rules for crew.

So they did one more take, and Kirshner said, just do what you think is best. Harrison said "I know." as he had suggested. And they went with that take. needless to say, Lucas was not happy about it, but eventually came around.

Now it iconic. I use to drive an Ex that was also a Star Wars fan nuts with that line, when she would say "I love you." lol

Did you know, fun fact. You should not listen to the comics or books? I am a 77 child, my Birthday was on the day of release of the UK screening. I was 7 years of age, showing my age now. However, I have never read a book or a comic, so to me that is all false. I could take Star Gate or Star Trek, write a comic book but that takes away from the tv show and movies, which are the only source you should listen to.
