That is a lot cheaper then I originally thought. I never even looked at how much the cost of living is in Dubai because I often see unrealistic lives being portrayed online but I’m glad I did some research.

For the more budget conscious, what do you think about living in one of the other emirates, such as Sharjah or Abu Dhabi? Beyond the same tax advantages, can I enjoy the "Dubai lifestyle" in those places? Does it make practical sense to commute from other emirates to Dubai? Thanks for your insights.

I think for me personally, the slightly higher cost of living is worth it for the security you get being in the country. Low crime rates etc

The thing is when you compare the cost of living of Dubai with the western big cities it would be a good idea to compare the salaries as well. I don't if I am the poorest person but I find expensive.

There 2 things in live you can't escape. One of them is taxes). Most of the countries apply Citizenship based taxation system for the most people moving to Dubai doesn't do any savings on taxes as they pay same taxes as if thy were working in the home country.
