Before the Colorado Buffaloes face their biggest test of the 2023 football season so far, head coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders addressed the death threats against Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn.

Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell said on Monday that Blackburn has been receiving death threats since his late hit that hospitalized Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. According to media reports, Hunter suffered a lacerated liver and will be out for a few weeks.

Blackburn drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty Saturday night for the blow he delivered to Hunter's midsection on a deep pass in the first quarter of the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Anybody who would threaten someone’s life over a football game needs serious mental help

Damn, that was a class act taking the high road like that. Props to Coach.

It was definitely a dirty play and he should have been ejected, in my opinion. However, the death threats are way out of line. Unfortunately, our society is full of lunatics who issue death threats for all sorts of reasons.

Add one more thing: Anyone making those threats deserves to be charged & prosecuted.

Make them against Henry Ruggs not Henry Blackburn.

Police said the threats were to him AND his family. NOT COOL

CU receivers are trained that a ball passed by Sheduer is catchable. Thus, everything about any pass play, in the way it develope, is run at high, fast, top speed by receivers. These Buff receivers are spit-fire certain in their ability to catch a football thrown by Sheduer. How else can this QB post an astounding 80 plus pass completion percentage at the college level? Coach Prime is sure to feel comfortable with the competitive connection with which the receivers race for a pass thrown by Sheduer. However, in the play where T. Hunter was injured the ball thrown by Sheduer was not catchable. Even if Travis had his arms out-stretched he will not have touched the ball. Thus, the receiver should have slowed his run as a sign that the ball was not reachable nor catchable. But that approach is not the way to play on game day. Every pass from Sheduer is tracked with fast breaking speed. There is no slow down running speed for Buff receivers even if the ball cannot get caught. With that kind of drilled discipline from QB to wide receivers, one should expect more Buff players carted off from the field on a stretcher. The undeniable focus from receiver to QB who throws an errant pass is going to make for a painful down like the one which did take Travis to the hospital.

Dirty hit by a dirty player. There was no play on the ball. He hit him with the intention of hurting him, and the kid went to the hospital for no reason. He's trash, brought it on himself, and deserves everything he gets.

At the end of the day, he intentionally tried to hurt, and, did, hurt a player. What he did, IS NOT A PART OF THE GAME. IF THATS THE CASE, ANY PLAYER WHO DOESN'T LIKE ANOTHER PLAYER CAN ASSAULT A PLAYER ENDING THEIR CAREERS AND LIVELIHOOD WITH THAT NONSENSE CLAIM!

I get that sanders had to be pc about it but come on, he tried ruining a player livelihood over what sanders called, just a game, so, if it was just a game, why did BLACKBURN, go above and beyond, and all the way across the street, and beyond, with the intention of assaulting this player? The two doesnt add up!

Unless blackburn knows dude and they are beefing behind the scene and we didnt know that. At the end of the day, blackburn is a dirty player and I hope he makes it into the NFL and someone catches him and knock the dog shipt out of him . hopefully he gets a tua treatment

The game was staged just like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady's Falcon Superbowl and ever since the inception of the so called "competitive sports." People are FOOLS to be fan SHEEP, and two defensive linemen could have both hit the QB before Sanders' team scored their final 2 point conversion. They literally ALLOWED the QB to pass to a wide open receiver.
