Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Games?

The Nintendo Switch 2 rumors and leaks have been gaining more and more traction, and while we're still waiting for Nintendo to officially announce it I want to take a look at a bunch of games we might see accompany it's launch! From remasters to 3rd party ports, cross gen games, and brand new 1st party entries in big series like Mario and Zelda, here's what we might see during the Switch 2's launch window.

Nintendoland was absolutely brilliant, it was really fun and was about the only game that made full use of the Wii U controller. I'd love a new one.

I really don't want Nintendo to remaster or remake Switch 1 games for Switch 2. You'll be able to play Switch 1 games on Switch 2. Just make a patch that enhances those Switch 1 games on Switch 2, visual or performance wise.

A from the ground up remake of Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess would make me genuinely cry with tears of joy. Even if they weren't launch titles but an end of the year games

I think it's going to be Pokemon Legends Z-A and Mario Kart 9

It'll probably be 3D Mario on Day 1 & Mario Kart 9/10 closer to the holiday season. Animal Crossing could also be Year 1, but I could also see them waiting until Early 2026. It's been long enough since New Horizons ended support, & Splatoon 3 wrapped up DLC not too long ago. So the timing lines up. As for Pokémon Legends Z-A, we know that's Switch 1-only with no cross-gen plans thanks to the Game Freak leaks. So we can automatically rule that out. Same for the Fire Emblem 4 remake, which is rumored to be Switch 1-only & having already been finished for over a year.

As far as third-parties go, I'm mostly expecting PS4 games to be brought over rather than current-gen games. Basically games like Street Fighter 6, Metaphor, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Persona 3 Reload, & Elden Ring would be perfect fits for the platform.

This is a crazy idea but, since Bethesda brought over Doom and Wolfenstein to the original Switch, what if they miraculously brought Indiana Jones to the Switch 2.

If Mario kart 9 doesn't have an adventure mode like Diddy Kong racing then It's just going feel like Mario kart 9 is just an extension of Mario kart 8

They should release a remake for the LoZ Oracle games, like they did for Links Awakening. I’d buy it in a heartbeat, and I’m betting I’m not the only one.

One thing to note is that the switch 2 will be backwards compatible with the switch and supports NSO and this has been confirmed by a tweet by Matsumoto so the entire switch library will be on the switch 2

I hope we get Xenoblade 4 5 and 6, Metaphor, Persona 6, Pokémon gen 10 and 11 and every game being backwards compatible

I hope we get some kind of Animal Crossing near the launch of the system.

New Horizons has been done for over 3 years now, and that launched halfway thru the Switch's life cycle. In that time, it sold nearly 50 million units and has become a cultural phenomenon thanks to the pandemic. I'd argue it's become one of Nintendos' "big four" series.
