I can not believe how many people in gyms don't set their safety bars right. Lifting without safety bars is a darwin award waiting to happen.

Update: In case you don't Lift and don't know what safety bars are, they are structures that keep the weights from crushing you if something goes awry. Ever wonder why weight discs get bigger in diameter before they get thicker? Their radius is your last line of defense in case you drop them and end up under them. That's why power lifters can make do without extra safety bars, but f you do, for instance, squats or bench presses however, you HAVE to have safety bars in place to keep the weights from crushing you if you end up under it.
