It might be minor detail, but I always loved how this movie specifically showed the effects of using Nitrous. The thud from them hitting the button, followed by the camera pushing in on the pressure gauges climbing, with a loud hissing and the street lights flashing past in a way that resembles lightning or bursts of electricity. I personally think it's cooler than the zoom into the engine that the other films did.

Watching this scene, made me realize the guy in the RX-7 was probably the smartest on that last stretch. He was already about to lose $3500, so there was no sense in destroying his car too.
