Their plane crash happened a week before my wedding day and I remember being so heartbroken for the Kennedy & Bassett families. Everything about this wedding was great. The location, the tiny church, the gospel singer, the small guest list, the informalities, the quirks, the hasty preparation right before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, the "happy accidents" all made it feel real, relatable, and not so manufactured. So many people go out of their way these days to have unconventional weddings, but no amount of planning and coordination could reproduce the magic of this wedding.
