I just rescued another Border Collie. This is my 4th Border rescue. They are high energy and need lots of exercise and stimulation. I wish I could hug this baby. I hope he finds a good home!

Border Collies are the most intelligent dogs in the world. They learn from every interaction with humans or other animals.
I have learnt so much from my Border Collie and I can see that Zeus needs a hug. He needs someone to wrap his arms around him and to let him sleep, head on their lap.
These guys are not just alert, not just herders not just dogs who keep the flock together. They originated on the border of Scotland and England but they also had to maintain their animals together before lands were fenced or hedged. They had to watch their owner's borders so the animals didn't stray onto someone else's land and get claimed and keep out the predators so they are real guardians too, it is strong in their genes. They are loyal and loving. This poor guy has been so betrayed. I would jump all borders and cross an ocean to take him. I know he is worth it.

I wish people wouldn't choose dogs just because of their cuteness factor. If you are COMITTED to caring for a dog for as long as they are with you, choose based on your lifestyle, and get a dog that will fit in. When my husband and I were younger, we had a Husky, and we ran him for hours every day. When we were a bit older we had a Shepherd mix, and she needed less exercise. Now we have a couch potato beagle in our older and slower years. Border collies are SUPER high energy and if you don't have that lifestyle, and they don't get what they need, neither of you will be happy.

I have a border collie. They’re incredibly intelligent but anyone wanting one MUST have room for the dog to run….A LOT, and be willing to challenge the dog to learn new tricks regularly. These dogs cannot be left to boredom.
