want to drain an abscess at home?
I found this kit online at Amazon that you can 'play doctor' and drain an abscess. You will need other tools:

I am a Certified Surgical Technologist and love the OR! I love your channel and want to thank you for teaching everyone how to put the blade on the handle the "right" way😁! Seems small but it's difficult to repair a wound or do a procedure if you are bleeding all over the place 🙃🙂. You are awesome and a fantastic teacher\educator! Blessings 💖🕯️🙏

I absolutely love it!
As a registered nurse I have always wanted to learn how to suture as well, as it is typically not something that we are taught to do in the UK or Australia and not usually in our scope of practice. Although, possibly in some specialised areas, they may be allowed to do it, I’m not sure. But with more and more tasks and procedures that are normally done by Drs, being given to nurses to complete, maybe some day in the not too distant future, doing simple sutures will be our job!
I wish my funds weren’t so tight at the moment, otherwise I would totally buy one of your kits off of eBay!
Hopefully some day!
Great video Dr Carlo! Thanks.
Hope you are doing well with all the current madness and you working on the frontlines.
I’ve missed some of your recent videos, so I’ll have to catch up now.
Much love to you and your family. 💜

If my neuropathy wasn't so advanced I would have purchased a kit. I started snapping cross-stitch needles years ago because I didn't notice how hard I was holding them.

My cat had an abcess once. I discovered it while stroking her and the pus wanted to come out. I made sure the pus was all out and then cleaned it with a cotton wool pad soaked in warm salt water. Took her to the vets and it turned out because of the (very little) I did she didn't need antibiotics. Yay. I've also found it's quite easy to drain a bloody toenail. And I've treated a fairly severe 2nd degree burn at home. It's healed up beautifully. I'm not a nurse but have a little knowledge and if I can treat something myself I will to try and save the NHS the trouble! Took this too far recently with a broken toe and now I have a wonky toe!!!!

When I was younger I had an "abscess" in my inner ear canal several times. Then again in my 20s and even earlier this year one started to develop. They are like oil glands that get clogged and are unable to drain. I was always able to pop them, but the fluid and substance would always come out towards the inner ear. Using Qtips to dry your ears can press water and wet earwax into these glands inside your ear canals. Tip your head to the side and use a dry towel or Kleenex to soak up excess water.

Cool! If school ever restarts, my kids would love to lance boils!

I love the cyst practice model but what a waste of space I feel like they could've at least gotten 4 spots to practice on at least especially since it's a 1 time use. It would be cool if there was a way to reuse them as well. Awesome idea though.

What do you use when lidocaine doesn't work? I've had procedures where after 6 injections I was still feeling the pain.

Doctor Oller. I've had a big abscessus along my muscle biceps femoris. The pus was deep in my leg under the biceps femoris. Starting point was knee where is the head of that muscle. Pus made high pressure from inside on nerves, and was growing towards other biceps femoris head. So, my doctor did a big surgery under full narcose (Propophol). Cutting my skin and tissue S shapeed till he reaches the muscle self.
Now for me is hard to understand and imagine all of that. Did you ever had a similar situation, so I could see it and understand visually. Because this was not a typical abscessus below skin.
Thank you for your time

Is your son interested in following in your foot steps? This would be a great learning tool for him ( with your guidance) I think you've said your father is also a physician (?)
