The Necklace caught my attention, too! I've yet to read Daphne Du Maurier, but she seems like someone I'd love

I'd only heard of McNally Jackson during the pandemic for virtual events, but when the name was dropped during The Other Black Girl, I got the sense it's a BIG DEAL to get an event in there--nice!

This was fun! I've wanted to go to The Strand for a long time. That other bookstore looked like a beautiful little store too. Looks like you got some fantastic books. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on them. I'm planning on reading Suite Française next month. That Hungarian book sounds so different and intriguing. I ended up adding it and several others to my tbr. Also, I would say for after getting up so early and having a filling, then walking around so much and book shopping, you look way better than I would after all that. Lions are powerful, so no shame in looking like one.

I really enjoyed your shopping trip and seeing all the books you found. I’m going to check out McNally Jackson’s website because I’m very interested in discovering books in translation that I would not otherwise know about! Thanks for another really entertaining vlog!

Love for jewelry...have you had M J Rose? She writes mystery/thrillers, some historical I think? but with cool jewely tie-ins--and she is a kick!!

Book shopping in NYC is THE DREAM. 😍 (okay, London, too lol) I know you’ve posted book hauls before, but was this your first time in a bookstore since quarantine began? (Not judging, I just can’t remember if you’ve mentioned it before lol) I was not ready to be attacked with Tante Eva being considered historical fiction when it’s set during my childhood. 😂 Anyway, you found quite a few interesting-sounding books. Bird Summons, The Fires of Autumn, The Finest, and The Bone Fire sound especially good!

Also, I impulse bought Kristin Lavransdatter because I couldn’t stop staring at it in the background of your videos, and it finally arrived. I know you said it was ginormous, but I had no idea just how large (and heavy!) it was until it arrived. Big yikes! lol

#Shelfcontrol went out the window so fast once I stepped foot in a bookstore.
