Plague Tale Requiem - Chapter 12 - How to run away from the Count?

This Plague Tale: Requiem game guide shows how to complete the chase scene with the Count in chapter 12 - The Life We Deserve. You'll have to escape him while going through the manor's basement.
In the first part of the chase focus on picking the correct path. Hide under the table after jumping over the first obstacle and then just keep running.
The second part is trickier, because you have to use the crank to lower the gate. You can't do that in one go. You'll have to pause the interaction, run away from the Count, lose him and then go back to the crank. Do that around 3 times and then proceed towards the new exit.

Easy guide:
>Crank the lever up to half.
>Let go.
>Go left, juke him around table.
>Bolt for the pot-room across (right of the lever)
>Juke him around the shelf
>Go through the half
>Lock the door behind him
>Crank the leaver further
>Plenty of time to leave the room
>Profit

This pissed me off so badly but what you’re supposed to do is TRAP HIM IN A ROOM AND LOCK THE DOOR!! Amicia actually says to do it which I missed 5 times.

NOW I’m pissed. I finally got to the exit and missed the damn door the first time!!😡I hate that this game doesn’t give you a HUD or compass

This part is the scariest I ever played, my heart was beating too fast when you had to run, dodge and hide

EASIER STRATEGY:
Pick 1 crank and stay close to it. Easier to finish turning the crank by hiding around the shelves and under the tables. Just stay out of his line of sight and don't bother locking him up in the cells. It's faster.

If there's 1 part of the game that will make you want to refund it, this is it. ASOBO surely ran out of good ideas for this dogshit level to make it through approval.

What I do is once I get to the room with the gate, I turn right to that control and I spin it until he comes close. I then run to the opposite end of the room and enter the cell there and trap him there. After that, I run across back to the other end and finish off opening up the door. It takes but a few minutes to do and is easy. With him having to break out from the cell on the opposite end and make his way back to me, it gives me enough time to open the gate on the 2nd attempt.

I actually made it through the gate all by myself. I didn’t know where the exit was! The Duke caught me at the end of the the hallway. Thanks to this video I don’t have to search again.

I swear the game was not letting me run until I watched this video 😂. 20 seconds in is all I needed lol. Thank you so much

I was really enjoying the game until this boss. Seriously what the hell. I understand that boss battles are supposed to be hard. But the fact that this franchise always uses its game mechanics against you is just mean

came so close to uninstalling the game, this needs to be patched.

The 2nd section I pushed it over over half way ran into that room on the far right and locked him in and just had barely enough time to finish the crank off

Keep in mind there are 2 exits, so focus on one

I get the point of this section, I really do, but jesus christ this is infuriating. There's a reason most games don't mix the mechanics of stealth and forced "hold button" prompts like with the lever. The problem gets worse when you make the character dramatically slower unless you're in an all out sprint and that with the stealth skills maxed out at this point in the game. This section needed to be reworked or utterly removed and left to a cutscene.
