I was born and raised in Köln/Cologne and it's nice to see my hometown through the eyes of a non-local person, especially when it's somebody from outside of Germany. I have been traveling to many countries/continents except for South America and Africa but every time I come back to Köln I feel home despite the fact that my hometown is not the prettiest city. It's important to know that German cities and industrial areas have been bombed severely by the allied forces, hence the lack of housing post WWII and the need to build new housing opportunities for the people in a post war situation. It was required to build fast and cheap. That caused the rise of many ugly buildings. Some have been replaced and as you can see the inner city area is full of construction sites. It's a constant change and I hope it'll be better in the future. We have millions of tourists from all over the world and I'm happy to see people love Köln and visit us. Unfortunately we do have some issues with pick pocketers but that's something any other big city with tourists is suffering from. I wish my hometown in the downtown area was more clean, yet it's the lack of people's education and manners, also some tourists drop their trash wherever they go because they do it like that in their own countries. That's very sad. Thank you for sharing your view.

This video is to die for, oh my god, it is the most beautiful Christmas market in the world isn't it, I have never been, my god I would love to go there, like I said in my other comments I feel homesick, even though I was born in London I am British my mother is German, and all the memories of Christmas is a child just bring it all back into my heart, Germany will always live on in my heart.
