A New Mac Pro is Coming!

Today, Apple discussed its plans for a new Mac Pro coming in the future. Here is everything it announced!

Apple has been overthinking the tower for as long as I can remember. I think today's update would have almost been enough, if it had included a spec bump to 4-lane 512GB flash bare minimum and 32GB RAM bare minimum. They staunchly continue on this path where you cannot possibly justify buying the thing.

Good news but too much time between releases. Also stop soldering the ram onto Mac mini
logic boards and try using standard SSDs like M.2 instead of proprietary connectors on the upcoming Mac Pro. Seems like you're trying to nickel and dime your customers!

So un-Apple like to make an announcement like this, but I, for one, am beyond happy that they have. I love my trash can Mac Pro, however there's one too many GPUs in it so however much I like how fast and quiet it is, it's clearly a flawed design. Intrigued by them saying that the new model will be "modular". I can't see them going back to the cheese grater format so it will be interesting to see what they come up with. My trash can Mac Pro will be 4 years old in February 2018 so if they come up with something in around a year to 18 months from now it'll be just about perfect for me as I'll be thinking around then that it's time to upgrade my hardware.
