I agree about paying Taxes! There are just too many! But School is Fun! You learn Stuff You are interested in, and tjen You find a Job with that knowledge You like (for me it's Medicine!), and then You get to have Fun at Your Job! That's Great!

Don’t pay tax sure…. But don’t have roads or hospitals or schools or safety nets for the most underprivileged. Student loans are another thing altogether tho. I’m with you on that.

No man is an island,
Entire of itself;
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.

If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less,
As well as if a promontory were:
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were.

Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.

Are you Canadian? If so, a lot of those taxes pay for free medical care. Taxes pay for roads, airports(to some extent), low income housing...( if you can't afford to build and own your own home...and a miriad of other facilities that a society enjoys.
If you would rather not pay taxes, then you'll have to find a deserted island on which to "try" to exist.
Maybe find a sugar momma or daddy may be another option.

At some level, a lot of people want to enjoy the benefits of living in a civilized society with a high standard of living but don’t want to contribute to it. An alternative, though, of living like a caveman off the land isn’t appealing to most people …

You don’t have to go to school, much less take out loans.

As someone who is older, let me tell you how it used to be.
Before the government in the U.S. started backing school loans, you used to have to go to banks to get a loan for your schooling. If the lender did not think the major you picked out was going to gain you viable employment in the end, they would not lend you money. The banks also had to compete for these school loans, making their interest lower than their competitors in many cases. Because the loans were not government backed collages and universities charged way less per semester. Any loan that is backed by the government allows the institution to charge much more because the government will never question it. So i can honestly say that the cost of higher education was much better when i went because of the non government loans.

90% of society cannot afford to pay for school without student loans. Only about 1% of students are offered scholarships so we have to pay for it ourselves. Also, the double-taxation is very irritating. We pay Income tax and other taxes that come directly out of our paychecks already. Then Sales Tax gets us a 2nd time. Why? We used to have 4 class levels(which is already bad) in USA. They were Upper class(top 30%), Middle class(middle 30%), Lower class(lower 30%), and Poor(bottom 10%). Now we have Rich(top 1%), Upper class(next 9% below Rich), Middle class(next 20% below the Upper), Lower class(next 20% below Middle), and Poor(remaining 50% still living). something has to change!

You forgot to mention that you have to repay your student loan with interest as well

We're complacent, and no one is willing to do anything or say anything until it affects them, and until there's enough people who this has affected negatively... Just wait, it's-a coming.

School isn't a burden. It is intended to show you things other people had to figure out on their own so you don't have to re-invent the wheel. A lot of people view it as a burden because they don't always want to learn the things that are being taught that day, but those things are usually important things for adults to know. The schooling you pay for is intended to be something directed toward the career you want to have in the future. If you can just make videos talking about your life and how you feel and make money from that, then maybe you don't need to know any of those things. If that doesn't work, though, then you'll need something else to fall back on. Just a thought :)
