5 Great Tips To Score High in BIG RUN - Splatoon 3 Salmon Run

Some additional tips:
-If you get a lowtide glowflies, you can use the ledge at 2:48 to easily take care of the salmonids.
-If you get grillers on high or lowtide; there are two uninkable paths next to mid, with small, lowered, uninkable ledges next to them. Use these ledges to confuse the grillers; they might even be too slim for them to be able to reach you!

Yeah I’ve gotta say that Nintendo did an excellent job on the atmosphere of this event. I love the sound design. One of my favorite bits is that there’s no music at all when approaching on the helicopter. I felt so tense going on my first shift because of that, it’s amazing.

I feel like for big run they should've made it that cohozuna spawn more commonly, I was hoping big run would allow us to get scales easily but it seems like it doesn't do anything in that aspect

Had a pretty nasty weapon rotation on wave 1 glowflies. Squiffer, Snipewritter, Goo tuber, and Octobrush.

Also a huge tip that I swear everyone ignores, Fish Sticks and Drizzlers need to be dealt with if they are in or near your Landing Zone/Basket. So many damn times people ignore a Drizzler's Torpedo and Fish Stick landings which then inks your area so fast the Flyfish, Stingers, and Big Shot make short work of the team. Also remember to recognize ans learn shortcuts everywhere. This goes with Inking walls, if you can find the quickest path to get those eggs near your basket or get back to the group do it. Remember we are on Wahoo World and the underpass is still usable unless on High Tide. I have survived many times by leading or running from enemies down there and then back up the wall. This is useful for the Center portion. Don't forget to use your throw for eggs

Yeah I have noticed that I been using my specials way more in wave 1 and 2. That first wave is a literal gold mine cuz its not as chaotic as the rest, as long as you and your teammates know what to do you can absolutely get soooo many eggs.

Another tip is to not get in the way of your teammates' shooting. You do block shots if you are in front of them so it's best to shoot with them on their side rather than behind them or in front of them.

Tip for glowflies for when the basket is in the middle of the map.

You’re going to want to take down as many Goldie’s as you can near the basket. But if you find yourself overwhelmed go up to the second level right next to the platforms that you can’t ink in mid. (I hope you understand what I mean by that) The salmonid can not reach you there and if you have glowflies they will chase you and stay waiting there without jumping to hit you like they would if you wait going up a wall. This will allow your teammates to collect eggs and ensure your safety.

One thing I recommend to start practicing is using substrafing when collecting eggs by the basket instead of squid rolling!
You can save quite a bit of time, especially because you don't need to wait to land to change direction

Great video! I do want to correct you, however, as normal tide happens at spawn, low tide is at mid with the water drained, and high tide is at mid with the water filled up

I love your videos. I'm just trying to be a good teammate and have fun, and you give your tips in a way that makes it feel like I can actually use them, even though I'm not a high level player. They lower the game stress instead of adding to it. I hope everyone has a great time during Big Run!!

Random thoughts on Big Run highscore rewards:

If the rewards are based on the top scorer in the world during Big Run, based on the percents in the chart for the locker decoration rewards, then being in a lower salmon run rank would give you a disadvantage, since there is less bosses that spawn and therefore less of a total ammount of possible eggs to get a highscore than if you survived in a higher rank.

Just a thought, but if it is a problem, they could base the highscore on each individual rank, maybe.

Your mini-series has been very helpful for me during Big Run, although I've only gotten around to watching this video now. I've managed to get 128 eggs with random teammates as my high score so far, and it makes me want to play Salmon Run a lot more in general. Thanks so much!

Mixed bag for me so far. Pretty decent rate of completing all three waves, but so, SO many players aren’t luring at all and just blasting away, ignoring my pleas of “This way!”

Tri strike hits above it high enough that you can damage the mothership way before it gets close to the basket. It also does enough damage to kill it near instantly

Fantastic tips! I absolutely adore the spooky ambiance of Big Run. They nailed it, and it brings me so much joy. It’s super fun! I really hope Big Run is a common occurrence. This would have been perfect for Halloween!
