Yes indeed; John Hughes was a very talented writer & director with several worthwhile/impactful films.
Of all his directorial efforts, my personal favourite is "The Breakfast Club".
At this point, I've seen some but not all of the films that he only wrote/produced, some of which I still find enjoyable today, others less so. My personal favourites in the case of those movies are the first two "Home Alone" films and "Beethoven".
Also, the tribute to him at the Oscars back in 2010 was absolutely terrific.

I really enjoyed the tribute to John Hughes at the Oscars from the actors who talked about him especially Macaulay Culkin. It’s a bit of an interesting coincidence that this video was uploaded on Culkin’s birthday. I don’t know if this was intentional or a nice coincidence but either way, I loved that Macaulay said that Hughes treated him with respect even as a little kid.

Marvelous Video! Can't Imagine if he co-wrote the script for Daddy Day Care!

It’s amazing how much of an impact John Hughes has had. May he RIP.

I would've loved to have seen John Hughes' Peanuts, even if he probably would've gone the slapstick route when his earlier work would've worked a bit better. Although, while I prefer his earlier work, I'll always have a soft spot for Baby's Day Out. I always had fun with that as a kid.

Fun fact: Kevin Bacon made a cameo in Planes, Trains and Automobiles and yet Martin's wife watches the movie She's Having a Baby while waiting for him to get home.

Also for the all the problems in 101 Dalmatians, at least it didn't make the animals talk like The Lion King 2019 in the approach to "realism".

Next up you should go over the filmography of Macaulay Culkin. Because Macauley Culkin was one of those kid actors I always had a soft spot for. I mean... I don't think he was the world's greatest actor, but when he was given the right material, when he was strained in, he could deliver a good performance.

But I do personally feel he deserved better. Because he was a big success because of Home Alone, he was given all this money, and he got a lot of roles in movies because he was cute. Because of his looks. And then when he got older, it seemed like Hollywood was just like: "Screw you, kid! Yeah, sure, you're talented but... whatever. You're no longer good looking so... we don't need you anymore and we're not even gonna bother casting you." And then his career was over after movies like: "Getting Even with Dad", and "Richie Rich". Now... granted, neither of those films were hits, but was he really to blame for that? I mean, is a film like Getting Even with Dad really gonna be a hit? A film where he's Ted Danson's son? No, that was never gonna be a hit. So it's really too bad, because Macaulay definitely had his charms, and he was a likable kid, and... it's just a shame that he wouldn't be able to later in his career as an adult, still be able to get good juicy roles in movies. But it didn't happen. The well dried up, and he no longer had his good looks that eventually studios just stopped calling. So, it really was a blessing and a curse for Macaulay Culkin to get so famous, so young, so to speak.
