This song has become a gospel classic, thanks to the heartfelt lyric penned by late, gospel great Dottie Rambo. Using the familiar LONDONDERRY AIR tune, it's useful for Holy Week in general, and Good Friday in specific (although the anthem is certainly useful throughout the year).

A couple of notes for choir directors: There is a different rhythm sung in this recording at m.8 when compared to the sheet music displayed on screen and the actual arrangement that was published. M.9 has a word change and M.10 has a ritard that is not taken in the recording (this difference I actually prefer since it doesn't break up the verse so much). Most likely, this recording was made with a preliminary arrangement that had a few slight adjustments made to it. Still an excellent arrangement and performance! Tom Fettke really knows how to orchestrate beautifully without making the choir parts complex or difficult. I simply want to point out these things in case you decide to use this recording as an example for your choir to listen along to as I did. Best!
