Here's how to run all of my 12v Solar Powered and 12v Battery Powered DC projects on AC power! you don't need to change a thing. just buy one of these... then easily switch back and forth from on-grid AC to off-grid DC operation at any time. a 10A (120w) one will run all the projects i've made. they start about $16 on amazon. to find them just search the term ac to dc transformer. you'll see lots of choices

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this channel. The AC went out in my 2003 Dodge Ram Cummins a few years ago and I'm not wanting to spend the $1k+ to have it fixed so I bought an Artic Cool last year since it runs off 12 volt USB. It works ok for me up frontespecially with ice but want something for when my wife and child are also in the truck. Which one of your builds would you recommend? I have room for a cooler or 5 gallon bucket if I flip up half of the back seat. Maybe this could be an idea for a video since my other buddy with a 2006 Ram is doing the same.

Hi Im trying to visualize how you run all your projects off one of these 10A 12v ac dc cigarette lighter power adapters. First off I would need an additional male cigarette connector with a positive and negative lead to connect to my dc power devices. Typically I would find a power supply adapter and splice the dc end in hopes of finding one that supplies a pos and negative wire but easier said then done. This cigarette connector setup seems like a viable option but still trying to wrap my head around how you easily switch between ac and dc power. Link to products would really help clarify things thx.

I live in Florida, and the humidity here is awful. Do you have any solar projects that would work for indoors that would not increase indoor humidity? Maybe something like a dehumidifier run by solar?

I cant seem to draw enough power to my 20 watt water pump. I purchased a 200 watt DC to AC inverter. I split the current from my 100 watt solar panel to to my 80watt car fan and the 20 watt pump. wiring in the inverter between the pump and the panel, but it seems like the pump is not getting enough current. So do I need to run in series? Or is it the inverter? Cant seem to get enough power to run the little aquarian pump. Got any suggestions?

So for the radiator fan that comes with bare wire. Do I just strip the converter’s wire and tape the ends together?

I am missing the point here. My solar makes DC, so why convert to AC, so it can be converted back to DC? There will be a lot of wasted energy from heat losses. I thought off the grid meant not using big brothers AC.
