I stick by my word, You do not need a 4090 for gaming, so whether the 5090 is worth upgrading to, at least in my opinion comes down to the business / investment side of things. You should be able to recognize if it will benefit you if you are running some type of business or competing with other people. Especially if its something local.

as a trinity 4090 owner, ITS WORTH IT. You dont have to worry about settings just max everything out and enjoy every game at its best.

I game at 4k with well over 100 fps with a 4090 why would you even buy a 5090 its a complete waste of money

Skipping the 5090. 4090’s fine for the content available. A few years down the road it will be the equivalent of a 5070 with more RAM. I’m OK with that.

I may get the 5090 for gaming, but only because my mindset is that buying the absolute best card now saves money in the long run because I’ll keep it for the next 5-10 years and want it to be future proof for the 4K experience as games continue to push the limits in the next 5-10 years.

For reference, I’d be upgrading from a 1080Ti, which I’ve had for about 7 years. I had 1440p gaming when that was the best thing you could have at the time. Now, it’s starting to struggle.

I built a 2060 ti years ago for my first build and now I saved up for 5090 and I’m pretty sure I will be happy with the performance

4090 is the sweet spot. You dont need 5090. You just need to wait for 9090.

And here I sit rocking my dual titan xp and a 5800x3d.

Thing is... I still pull good fps for modern games at 1920x1080 and I don't have space for a properly sized 4k screen in my room, so that's about all I need. Been thinking of getting a 1440 120hz monitor so I can actually use a fair portion of 1 of those cards on 2020 and previous year games.

Titan xp's sell for 160 to 200, and I have yet to find a better deal per fps on market currently.

I was on a budget when I was buying my computer and I’m currently using the RTX 3060, I really want to upgrade to either a 4080 super or a 4090 FE but I hear it’s being discontinued so I won’t be able to get on for Christmas especially if they are making it more expensive, should I wait for the 5090?

Now for flat screen gaming i think i agree. Would you agree though for pcvr players a 5090 would help. Currently i'm running 4070ti on my system for vr. When i run obs and playgames and record it's a lot of screens that card is powering. Technically my setup i have main pc screen, second screen to have obs on so i know its recording while i'm playing and the 2 screens on the HMD. 5090 should allow me to do all that and have settings set to hight/ultra while recording correct? I hope so at least because that's the card i'm shooting for on my next build. Great vid and info by the way.

A 6090 is required to use full resolution in VR. I have a pimax Crystal Light and gaming is a complete different league in VR. BELIEVE ME.
