Best Market in Athens - Varvakios

I've always believed that one of the best windows in to a culture are it's markets, and Varvakios is the best in Athens. Known mainly for food, there are also lots of great flea markets & local stores to browse and score deals around the neighborhood.

Every day we are in this market showing visitors to the City how Athenians shop. There is always something new to see and the people are real characters who we consider to be our friends.

I wouldn't argue with him when holding that chopping knife, or whatever it is called!
I bet there were 78 records in that lot. I just love looking through a place like that, markets that sell everything is right up my street :-))
