Gilberte Steg - Holocaust Survivor

Gilberte Steg survived the Holocaust as a hidden child in France. These were Jewish children disguised and hidden from the outside world—at great risk to those helping them. For those targeted by the Nazis, the end of the war and liberation had been too long in coming. Jewish survivors were exhausted, both physically and emotionally. There was joy and relief, but with liberation came the knowledge of immense loss.
