DLSS Information:
DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is a technology developed by NVIDIA that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to upscale lower-resolution images in real-time, providing better performance while maintaining or even improving visual quality.

While DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) provides significant benefits in terms of performance and visual quality, it isn't without its potential drawbacks. Some users and developers report issues when using DLSS, particularly in certain games or hardware configurations. Here are some of the common problems with DLSS:

1. Image Artifacts
Ghosting/Blurring: One of the most commonly reported problems is the presence of ghosting or motion blur during fast movement. This occurs because DLSS sometimes struggles to perfectly match up details across frames, especially in fast-paced or dynamic scenes.
Shimmering and Aliasing: In some cases, DLSS might cause noticeable shimmering or aliasing (jagged edges), especially in fine textures like foliage or thin details like wires and tree branches.
Artifacts on Textures: DLSS sometimes creates visible artifacts, especially when upscaling very low-res assets. This can result in textures looking grainy or blocky, which can detract from the overall image quality.

2. Performance Issues (Overhead)
Increased Latency: While DLSS generally improves frame rates, the AI upscaling process can sometimes introduce a slight input lag or latency, which may be noticeable in fast-paced games like competitive shooters.
Performance Drop with Certain Settings: In some cases, DLSS may not provide the expected performance uplift, especially in games that have poorly optimized DLSS implementations or in hardware setups with bottlenecks (e.g., slower CPUs or lower-end GPUs).

3. Inconsistent Image Quality
Variation in Image Sharpness: DLSS can sometimes produce soft or overly sharp images depending on the version used or the game settings. For example, while DLSS 2.0 usually provides excellent results, some users report that it can still result in images that look a little blurry when viewed closely, especially on certain monitors.
Tuning and Game-Specific Settings: The effectiveness of DLSS varies across games, and some titles may require specific tweaks to avoid degradation of image quality. Some users find that the difference between native resolution and DLSS upscaling isn't as clear-cut, with certain games looking worse when DLSS is enabled.

4. High VRAM Usage
Increased VRAM Consumption: In certain configurations, particularly with DLSS 3.0 and Frame Generation, users have reported increased VRAM usage. This can be problematic for those with GPUs that have less video memory, leading to stuttering or crashes if the VRAM limit is exceeded.

5. DLSS 3 Frame Generation Issues
Stuttering and Frame-Time Variability: With the introduction of DLSS 3.0 and Frame Generation (which generates synthetic frames to increase performance), some users have reported stuttering or frame-time spikes in certain titles. This can occur because synthetic frames are generated by AI and may not be as smooth or consistent as frames produced by the GPU.
Artifacts in Frame Generation: In some cases, the new frames generated by DLSS 3.0's AI can introduce visual artifacts, such as tearing or ghosting between frames. These artifacts might be especially noticeable during high-motion sequences like driving or fast combat.

Not Always a Perfect Combo: While DLSS is designed to help improve performance in demanding titles (especially those with ray tracing), there are cases where the combination of DLSS and ray tracing can still cause performance problems. If ray tracing settings are pushed too high, DLSS may not be enough to compensate for the additional GPU load.

Thought that RT was so heavy until I used RT Ultra+DLSS Q
Still having 60+FPS (although my laptops was 144hz monitor) with 3060 6GB

Is it just me, or where the ragnes at which you could "spot the dot" aka actually spot the enemy, not seing his label the actual aircraft, are very low and reduced compared to native?

It would be nice to see such a comparison, as that would be a big issue in Sim.
And DCS had the same issue when they tried DLSS, namely that it reduced the spottingg ranges, which was deemed unaccepetable by most of the community, especially for the 10-20 fps more they got.

So what would you recommend that can stay reliable, above 100 fps and still show the beautiful ray tracing effects

so i can expect to have consistent 80~100 FPS on Balanced DLSS in 1080P with 3060Ti

Do you think an rtx 3080 ti can keep up on a similar way? Ik its a lot weaker but still, I would like to know.

When will they introduce DLAA 😭

Seriously, DLSS 2.5 is not high end anymore. 3.0 is the minumum, 3.5 would be nice.
