While DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) provides significant benefits in terms of performance and visual quality, it isn't without its potential drawbacks. Some users and developers report issues when using DLSS, particularly in certain games or hardware configurations. Here are some of the common problems with DLSS:
1. Image Artifacts
Ghosting/Blurring: One of the most commonly reported problems is the presence of ghosting or motion blur during fast movement. This occurs because DLSS sometimes struggles to perfectly match up details across frames, especially in fast-paced or dynamic scenes.
Shimmering and Aliasing: In some cases, DLSS might cause noticeable shimmering or aliasing (jagged edges), especially in fine textures like foliage or thin details like wires and tree branches.
