As far as I can tell, this has been "balanced" in that you can no longer disguise your alcohol to minor factions. It still works with the major factions at the cost of pretty much all of their opinion of you, so choose which one's don't matter to you and use this strategy early on. All that changed is you have to upgrade the alcohol quality on your breweries as well.
Alsonice spiff shout out, found this exploit from him a few months ago as well. Glad to see other people enjoying the game in this way

I played as Maximum Zelman and built my empire off loan sharking racket and was able to buy out many smaller factions, and provide protections to other gangs eventually buying them out

Just set up a standing order with the smaller factions selling whiskey lol trust me

So I need help.. when you first start the game out you go up to two people and you hire them to be in your gang they're two women that I've had all I wanted was to have four to five people grouped so I can win battles easier so my problem is when I hired two people from the black market or whatever both of my ladies that I first hired have scattered and they disappeared like they just ran off and now I'm all alone on the street and I went to every safe house and I cannot find my crew I need to regroup with four to five people and I do not know what to do like I cannot find them anywhere

I've started a new game with Al Capone, hired 4 crew members and have gone to a building to ambush it, my 4 crew members are literally standing outside with me and when I go in, Capone is on his own and has to fight them all by himself... I keep doing it and the same thing. Are you supposed to group together somehow? My crew don't follow me and I have to move them one by one all the time, it's starting to piss me off I can't use my crew and only fight alone.

I currently play as Elvira, and just make a lot of brothels and you'll get tons of money. I hired so many gangsters to attack places, and I still get tons of money each weeks. She's so op it's crazy 🤣 and i dont need to create brewery's or sell booze at all.
